    Responsibilities

    SCOPE OF WORK 

    • Incumbent determines the methodology by which Gaylor Electric builds commercial and industrial projects. 

    • Accountable for the strategy, vision, management and performance of design/engineering/pre-fab department personnel, the integration and coordination of technical designs with other location departments, teams, and external consultants, and the review of completed department work for targeted projects, technical accuracy, and satisfaction of project requirements.  

    • He/she utilizes advanced technologies to create systems that develop consistent building processes. 

    • Use and apply knowledge of Engineering and Technology towards research, adoption, and technology management. 

    • Act as a conduit to communicate the latest trends and vet technology to determine the most beneficial solution for Gaylor Electric. 

    • Works within a budget as directed. 

    • Travel required.   

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for connecting the corporate strategic plan with the departmental execution plan. 

    • Also responsible for department outcomes which may include project long range planning, organizing, and developing standard operating procedures and other control documents, financial/bonding resources, supervising and guiding staff methods, approaches, and techniques for conceptual and interpretive drafting of design-build or plan/spec projects, conferring with interdepartmental personnel concerning technical support issues, production scheduling and coordination with external consultants to resolve design issues, researching, developing, and preparing design documents as well as reviewing completed work to determine adequacy and accuracy of drawings and design.

    • Position reviews department personnel annually within company guidelines and sets individual goals and objectives to meet department needs.

    Qualifications

    WHAT YOU OFFER

    • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent studies/experience. 
    • Experience:  Position requires a high degree of technical knowledge of lighting design, electrical construction, proficiency in NEC code standards, and computer estimating applications.  Preferred experience with Revit, Navisworks.  Strong administrative, computer, and communication skills also required.
